Luxury Townhouse, stunning views and bordering Cataract Gorge walking trails
Sitting high above the city of Launceston with stunning views and a light-filled interior, the newly opened luxury townhouse ‘River’s Rest’ offers a tranquil retreat for visitors to Tasmania’s North. Just a short stroll from Cataract Gorge (located at the lower section of the Esk River), the property is the brainchild of Tasmanian tourism entrepreneur, Jo Youl who was recently named Young Tourism Achiever of the year by the Tourism Industry Council of Tasmania for her work on Flinders Island that included the inaugural Flinders Island Food & Crayfish Festival.
“Living on Flinders Island means that my family and I regularly fly in and out of Launceston,” says Jo. With limited boutique accommodation options on offer in the city, I saw an opportunity to create something really special for visitors.”
Jo engaged the services of interior designer, Emily Fitzgerald who worked with real and functional materials such as steel, Tasmanian timbers and pure textiles to curate the space. Decked out with photographic prints by Kara Roselund and furniture from Jardan, MCM House, MRD Home and Abode Living, the result is a seamless blend of industrial chic, modern finishes and rustic charm.
The two-bedroom, two-bathroom residence is also complete with modern comforts such as a fully-equipped kitchen with induction cooktop, baby webber bbq, smart television, high-speed wifi, washing machine and dryer, insulated polished concrete floors, double glazing, thermostat controlled ducted heating and touchscreen floor heating in the bathroom. Ideal for evening sundowners, the two large timber decks look out to the mountains and over the city.
